A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Vert, issuing from base a dexter and a sinister gauntlet chevronwise grasping a doubled bladed battle-axe Proper the finial formed by a trefoil Gules. Attached below the shield a red scroll inscribed "PROFESSIONAL ALWAYS" in gold letters.
Green and yellow are the colors traditionally used by Military Police units. The bladed axe denotes strength and continual vigilance: the gauntlets represent total military preparedness. The combined axe and gauntlets suggest the unit's motto "PROFESSIONAL ALWAYS." The trefoil symbolizes the unit's three World War II campaigns.
